That fact misses the point. The question is whether the healthcare provider is free to make as much as he would like or need in medicaid.
Well, they're not if they work for an organisation. They don't have to. Can work privately.

True, but 1. There is always the right to bargain for more, 2. Medicaid for all would not allow for anything above mandated limits.

Then don't work for it. I never got to negotiate my salary with the NHS but did working privately.

I agree with you, but the question is what would be lost if we worked under a Medicaid for all like system where profits are capped.

I think that's something for health professionals to consider when deciding how to work rather a make or break for having the service.

I have private healthcare. The consultants at the top of their field work there. They've also all contributed a day or 2 to the NHS.

A week. They don't have to, obviously. It's a kind of charitable thing so ppl who can't afford private HC can still benefit.
