Just got call from my parents' neighbours to say their house has been broken into. Now clearing up mess & calling glazier. Wankers.

My parents don't have lots of portable valuables. They do have a lot of very old, very valuable, heavy wooden furniture.
-
Hope it works out ok

They pulled all the drawers out, tipped them upside down & dropped them so several broken handles, scratches & chips. Upsetting.
-
And I can't reach them coz they're in little cottage by sea w/ no phone reception or wifi so I'll have to be in the house when they get home

Glazier was funny. Very worried abt police getting his fingerprints tomorrow. So worried, he's stuck his name on the boarding.
-
I suspect he has a criminal record. He was very kind to me.
-
Couldn't reach the Met. Well, I could have done but they said they were very busy so please not to unless urgent.
-
For some reason, I always trust tradesmen called Dave. There's something dependable about a Dave. They've not let me down yet,

Neighbours were kind but not helpful. They saw him running away. One says it was a slightly built teenager, the other a man in his 40s.

Finally got through to my parents. My mum: Meh. It's only things. As long as they've left us some knickers, we'll be OK.

Seems they got her tablet, laptop, ruby bracelet & £30 they left for the cleaning lady. She took the (emotionally) precious stuff with her.
-
"it's only things" Very impressed by your mum
