I am a fan of #NotAll because I think generalisations by identity group is one of the biggest problems currently.https://twitter.com/pica_ae/status/881470985538596865 …

It shld be clear that this is some ppl. But picking a group & saying they do or are something makes a problem specific to them.
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

If 'women can't drive' really means 'some women can't drive' why associate it with women in the first place.
-
It's legitimate to talk about different group averages.
#NotAll can usually be assumed in such cases. -
Yes indeed but one has to phrase it properly. Only use shorthand ("men are taller than women") when actual meaning is *very* obvious.
-
It's your responsibility to ensure that people don't read this as "all men are taller than all women" (which is an accurate interpretation)
-
Disagree. Especially on twitter, it is the responsibility of the reader to make a reasonable (and ideally charitable) interpretation.
-
Seeking clarification is fine, but if you are just trying to misinterpret in order to pick a fight, you are guilty of straw-manning.
