Phrasing is important. Ppl might mean the same thing by concluding 'think about it' or 'don't you think?' but seldom received the same.

When someone tells me to 'think about it', my instinct is to tell them I think about it regularly & show how I do it better. Silly, I know

Whereas 'don't you think?' makes me want to agree with them as much as I can & present areas of disagreement courteously.

And 'Does that make sense' motivates me to argue that it doesn't whilst 'Am I making sense' makes me want to look harder for the sense.

Hm, my boss sez "Does that make sense?" a lot, but shes v. unclear communicator & is aware of this, so her way of checkg she's understood.
