No, not necessarily, but I think we shld determine which are & aren't with reference to something other than faith.https://twitter.com/burtonad/status/881148313986314241 …
Yes. I haven't changed my mind about it. It is still the reason I think basing morality on religious belief doesn't work.

You don't have to think all religious ideas are flawed to feel that its better not to base your morality on religious ideas. 1/2
-
Because the standard ppl often call on to demonstrate that some religious ideas are good are humanist ones.
-
eg, 'How can you say religion is bad when Jesus said to give to the poor?' That's shown to be good by appealing to human wellbeing not God.

Well, conversations on Twitter aren't 100% guaranteed to result in someone changing their mind....

-
I'm still not sure of what your position is?
-
OK, back. My position is a) I use humanist/positivist principles as the basis for my own choices, because that's in line with how I think...
-
... b) many deeply moral and ethical people use religious teaching and principles as the basis for their choices. I don't think "I have...
-
... the better of this argument." IOW, I don't see atheism/positivism as self-evidently superior to religion/natural law principles.
-
It will entirely depend on your premise as to whether you see it as better or not.
