I tend to write essays in the style of essays I like to read. I am not sure how helpful this is.

But assuming that the style of writing which piques my interest & makes me feel the author knows what they're talking abt cld be subjective.
-
And people consistently tell me to be more personal & conversational so maybe people who aren't me like that a lot more than I do?
-
I don't like chatty, subjective pieces very much generally but admit that the 2 pieces I wrote that way about my experiences went down well.
-
And I suspect that many people like a human story to follow & empathise with much more than I do. Not sure I'll do anything different tho.

There's a time and place for this sort of thing and it's called your journal. Or your blog, if you *must* inflict it on the world.

I like your essays / articles, and have read several of them. Your tone & style is perfect as it is, I would disagree with those people.
-
Thanks! But often I do take their advice & soften my tone a little - make a bit warmer & more personal.

Ha! I admit you are chief among these but are not alone & are often right tho I usually pick a compromise!
-
Your pieces could also do with more emojis.
