So does evolved male dominance become (sociological) 'patriarchy', as 'female' becomes 'woman' at some point in our evolution? I should wait

I think the environment - conflict/competition or peace - can make either male or female traits more necessary for survival.

Because the need to survive is primary followed by the need to procreate in evolutionary terms.

So chimps are patriarchal because they have to compete with other groups & survival depends on fighters - males.

And bonobos are matriarchal coz they don't have to compete for resources & so the survival of genes depends on getting a female to mate.

Presume you know Wrangham on bonobos - makes a big difference foraging south of river Congo, not competing with gorillas for ground food!

I might do more apes, but your stuff interests me enormously - just curious about crossover of interests for some of my own projects.
