        I understand this one, it's a touchy subject for some. They fear technology will remove deaf people entirely, and with them deaf culture.

        There will always be a tiny minority "some people" who do daft things. Twitter provides ample evidence of this. Ignore them. Most do.

        I have a child who's deaf in one ear. Discussed with him things that may be possible to restore. He said "Meh." May change his mind later.
