I read wonderful thing that hypothesised that dogs see women as friendlier coz we walk with a hip sway which is read as a tail wag. 2/3

And that dogs when aggressive, approach each other with a straight rigid gait & when friendly with a relaxed, bum wiggle. I observed this.
-
One of my dogs - Shadow - was a very neurotic rescue & had a lot of fear aggression so I had to read a lot about dog body language.
-
I was making him worse by getting tense & walking quickly & straight past other dogs. It told him they weren't our friends.
-
Sources advised slowing down & walking in a relaxed way and in a slight arc towards other dogs shows that they are friends.
-
This worked. Licking lips is a sign of placation so I did this sometimes. Decided against throwing myself on stomach or doing a little wee.
-
Sadly, we couldn't save poor Shadow. He went for a little boy who was shouting in play. Cldn't hurt him coz muzzled but would have.
-
And he was anxious & afraid all the time he wasn't with me (hence 'Shadow') & bit himself & threw himself at doors & walls causing injury.

I had a female dog that preferred the company of men. But she was also the mascot of my Marine Corps unit. She grew up around only men.
