I know it might seem a nit-picky point but calling nastiness masculinity or femininity rather than a trait with a connotations of gender...

As tho its something nasty lurking in the essence of me which actually isn't part of me at all. A bit like original sin.

This may not be reasonable & these gender differences exist but enough ppl have felt this that I think its worth avoiding it.

I agree. One implies a group showing certain behaviours. The other implies a behaviour a gender has, period. So difference.
