I think that was @GodDoesnt's point. 2)That's what we're discussing. Where we think we are. 3)How do you measure this condition?
Obviously not. But I don't know how to ask you any more clearly than I have whether having goals & measuring progress can be inspirational.

I think you feel that if people were to feel inspired by how much progress had been made, they might stop feeling angry abt the injustice?
-
That being in any way positive about the direction of anti-racism activism is to deny the incredibly negative impact of racial oppression?
-
Perhaps that people have no right celebrating anything or feeling encouraged or that progress is being made? It would be a betrayal?
-
It's insulting (to me) to pat yourself on the back for it being a '6/10', when it should be a '1/10', save for a lack of effort.
-
Everything must be negative all the time. No-one must ever feel good about how far they've come & inspired to continue in that way.
-
What are you talking about? You're confusing individual achievement with societal/generational change.
-
By 'they', I meant their group. I am mostly thinking about UK feminism coz that it where I was. How far women have come.

I'm saying the former is fine, for yourself. I'm saying expecting the same of the latter is insulting to ask of other people. Clearer?
-
Again, not really the question being asked. I think you must be having too many conversations to focus. Maybe another time.
-
when discussing topics like this. Racial inequality is BETTER, yes. I don't think we should celebrate, we should ask why not MORE.
-
I remember Peter Tatchell on this. Got a lot of grief for saying 'Bravo!' to report that 42% of US Muslims support same sex marriage.
-
Because it wasn't 100%. He wasn't allowed to note & celebrate this big shift in the right direction.Such a shame to be negative all the time
