How will we know when we get there or if we're going in the right direction if we don't have a scale?

Are u asking me if there's a difference between setting a goal to lose 20 lbs over the summer, & hoping for a better life for ur grandkids?
-
Obviously not. But I don't know how to ask you any more clearly than I have whether having goals & measuring progress can be inspirational.
-
I think you feel that if people were to feel inspired by how much progress had been made, they might stop feeling angry abt the injustice?
-
That being in any way positive about the direction of anti-racism activism is to deny the incredibly negative impact of racial oppression?

Perhaps that people have no right celebrating anything or feeling encouraged or that progress is being made? It would be a betrayal?
-
It's insulting (to me) to pat yourself on the back for it being a '6/10', when it should be a '1/10', save for a lack of effort.
-
Everything must be negative all the time. No-one must ever feel good about how far they've come & inspired to continue in that way.
-
What are you talking about? You're confusing individual achievement with societal/generational change.
