1. Not the point 2. Who sets this scale? 3. I'm more interested in the conditions of ppl RIGHT NOW then how they compare
I don't live in your country & do not have a well-informed enough knowledge of what is being done.

Start here, Helen. And let me know if you still have the calm, reasonable take on measuring progress after.https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2014/06/the-case-for-reparations/361631/ …

If I am less calm and reasonable after reading it, will this put me in a better position to tackle racial discrimination more effectively?
-
Hopefully, it will give u some insight into current & historical conditions pertinent to conversation at hand. Being angry at a bad thing.
-
But remember, the conversation wasn't about whether we should be angry at bad things but whether it helps to evaluate levels of oppression
-
Is ur feeling that doing anything other than being angry at bad things is evidence of not caring about bad things & therefore morally wrong?
-
Everybody has feelings about things, Helen. Stop trying to make this an argument about your intellect and my emotions.
-
I'm asking you, That's what the question marks are for. Trying to empathise with ur point of view coz u don't seem to be saying anything
-
except that racial oppression is really bad & we should all feel very negatively about it. I think we can all agree to that.
