and we should listen to the people who suffer under it and ACTIVELY try to get it as close to 0 as possible. Not waste time on comparisons.
I don't see why it would. If you think you've gone from a 10 to a 5, it shows you're only halfway there.

Obviously not. But I don't know how to ask you any more clearly than I have whether having goals & measuring progress can be inspirational.

I think you feel that if people were to feel inspired by how much progress had been made, they might stop feeling angry abt the injustice?

That being in any way positive about the direction of anti-racism activism is to deny the incredibly negative impact of racial oppression?

Perhaps that people have no right celebrating anything or feeling encouraged or that progress is being made? It would be a betrayal?

It's insulting (to me) to pat yourself on the back for it being a '6/10', when it should be a '1/10', save for a lack of effort.
