"Criticize Islam, not Muslims" is akin to the canard of "hate the sin, not the sinner," that has long given license to anti-LGBTQ views.
As predicted. I feel that way too. But I'd still have to own my prejudice against Christians and you yours against LGBTs.

I'm not in any way prejudice against the LGBT community. I don't see them any differently from anyone else.

But you see gay sex as a sin but not straight sex as a sin even if both were within marriage. This is the definition of of prejudice.

Let me try to explain how I see it. And I'd like your thoughts on it. To me gay sex is a sin, just like say, lying is a sin. No difference -

And that is the problem. Can you not see why lumping homosexuality in with dishonesty, anger, greed, etc might seem hurtful & unjust?
