I am trying not to have so many Twitter rants about annoying Twitter behaviour and why it's annoying but I'm failing dismally. 1/347

We can all chant the mantra 'Things aren't black and white. Both culture & nature have effects. People's experiences are different'
-
Assume we all know this. What is needed now is a clear argument to explain why you think I'm wrong to say I don't live in a rape culture.
-
I've given you my reasons for this - probably bullet-pointed & accompanied by half a dozen of my blogs.
-
It's fine if you are one of those people who like to live in a fog of vagueness & make a virtue out of pseudo-profound obscurantism.
-
It's fine if you do it away from me, that is. You need to talk to other ppl who talk like this, not people trying to discuss social reality.
-
Because I will not be responding to vaguery. I'll be responding to a concrete claim that I don't think is supported & saying why.
-
I think sometimes people think I lack nuance & am unaware of the complexities & ambiguities. This isn't completely unjustified.
-
But it is in the way that matters.I don't think I have all the answers.I just think they exist & there are better ways to get closer to them
-
So, well intentioned ppl who chip in to tell me everything is complicated & ambiguous & shifting & subjective, kindly stop it.
-
Assume I know that society & psychology are messy & we don't have all the answers but that I don't think we shld just wallow in the mess.
-
Also consider why you're targetting me with your profundities abt the ambiguity of everything & not the person I am responding to.
-
Who is usually much more certain than me abt, say, patriarchal domination or a certain god existing & wanting certain things.
