I have. Men have a greater propensity to violence generally & when abusive that's how it comes out.

Men are most likely to be violent to men they don't know whilst women are most likely to be violent to family members.

Helen, I've spent some time chatting but I absolutely believe this is preventable and inexcusable and that we ALL have a part to play.

OK but please at least consider gendered issues on the statistics on violence, the law, social norms, prosecution differences, protections.

Helen, this started as a conversation about violence against women. My focus will remain on what is a preventable epidemic in this country.

You need to compare to the wider picture to see if being female really does cause you to be more at risk of violence by men. No.Much less so

And if you do that it becomes clear why the claim that violence is caused by devaluing women & condoning violence against them doesn't work.

I could see an epidemic of robberies against tall people & claim prejudice if I completely failed to compare with robberies of short people.
