I have. Men have a greater propensity to violence generally & when abusive that's how it comes out.

Men are most likely to be violent to men they don't know whilst women are most likely to be violent to family members.

This is not to say culture doesn't have any influence. In cultures where women are devalued & beating them is condoned, it happens more.

It's punished way more severely & this is reflected in pop culture where a woman slapping a man in a film is often funny but not other way
