This shit makes me angry. They do it to anyone who doesn't fall in line lockstep with their orthodox, Neo-Christian right authoritarianism.

I make videos about transgender folks deserving respect, the CSA's traitorous past, solving global warming, condemning political violence.

But I too am smeared "alt-right" and "far right" because, why? I believe in small government and low taxes? They don't care about facts.

I wanna legalize prostitution, decriminalize drugs, pro-choice/gay marriage, believe in the individual. BUT HE DOESN'T LIKE TAXES! GET HIM!

No-one likes taxes. We just prefer them to there being people who have no access to schools, healthcare, shelter & food.

People didn't die on the streets in the 1920s. Charity still existed then well before the introduction of the income tax

Would it be as co-ordinated as the current system? And would people contribute enough to it. And if they did, what wld be the difference?

Read up on Mutual Aid Societies and tell me those were not organized systems.

*as* co-ordinated. Could they provide hospital treatment, education, houses? And can they cover everyone?

Here in the UK in the medieval period that I study, guilds existed & its members helped each other through hard times but picky about it.

They certainly couldn't provide in the same way welfare, housing & the NHS do even if no-one will accept you.

You don't understand how the world works if you think taxes are what provide those things for people rather than human kindness

They are paid for by people who willingly take up those jobs and positions to help others. Non-profits are the majority of charity today

You missed what I was saying. The vast majority of aid being given to the needy is done more through nonprofits that taxes/gov't.

Why do you think so? The NHS costs about 116 billion pounds a year. Education is 85 billion. 74 billion on benefits. Can't find housing.

Obviously, that's where we differ. Ppl who support taxes think that a society in which no one lacks basic needs does justify taxes.
