It would be the same with all animals, yes. I'd rather dogs got to live & have a good life than not live. I'd rather I did.
Not really. Slaves were humans. They could contribute to a society & pay for their own food & medical care. Didn't need caring for.

I'm way of the analogy, but it has merits. Many freed slaves couldn't care for themselves. Their integration was rough even w/ federal help.

They had that potential. Even if they never recovered from the trauma enough to lead a functional life, their children could do so.

The offspring of today's cows and pigs will never pay taxes, build houses, become doctors & teachers & pay for their own care & safety.
