Addressing patriarchy and constructivism are parts of achieving gender equality.

The problem is that nobody can really agree on what equality really means.

But we can work our way to a functional agreement. Through things like the original position and statistical analysis.

Statistics often show that women in the US were generally happier overall when they raised families and didn't work as much.

Won't get far telling me I'd be happier at home raising kids. I know this not to be true.

Women have always known what they want & said so. We know this coz of all the surviving documents telling them to stop it.

Would you agree that equal opportunity for women could still appear unequal, under the lens of materialism?

Hard to say. Tends to be men who focus more on raw income whilst women are far greater consumers.
