is not hypocrisy. I get it. I agree. But most people won't and gay people will suffer for it. I cannot accept that.

I agree with you. The key word here is "private". If you air your views, then they are political statements (if you are a political leader)

I don't blame him. He got ambushed. However, having let people understand that he thinks gay sex is a sin, his position became untenable.

(For me, at least). A politician is there to achieve goals for people. Saying that *undermined* gay acceptance.

Don't misunderstand me. If all Christians were like Farron, the world would be a better place. Also, I still voted for his party.

You think it's best defined by having exactly the right beliefs or lying fact enough to convince ppl you have.

I mean that saying the right things with regards to prejudice is important when you are a leader. "Gay sex is sinful" is not the right thing

when you're a LibDem leader. Not letting that influence policy is a minimum, but not enough. The damage is already done.

Well, that's a shame. I cld see that affecting me. I cld defend religious freedom til cows come home but not that Islam is good.
