Laughing at & criticising ridiculous ideologies is the *right* way to tackle them.
-
Yeah. Not doing this here. If you wanna hop on skype or a recording let me know.
-
OK. I prefer to communicate in writing, tbh. Gives time for comprehension & reflection & makes dodging harder.
-
I think the exact opposite. Writing is PERFECT for dodging. You just DONT address the point
-
But everyone can see you're doing that whereas in conversation, easier to deflect & carry on somewhere else & then the thread is lost.
-
It depends on the audience. Twitter especially tends to lend itself to biased audiences that don't hold you accountable
-
Hold each other accountable when you have a conversation. Audiences will do their own thing wherever they are.
-
Yeah but if I'm intellectually dishonest I can just NOT do that. Surely you've run into that on Twitter? Not possible in conversation cause

Why don't we have a conversation on
@seriouspod about this? I think we have plenty to discuss -
I'll check it out but I've heard you argue before. You didn't really get the hang of how it works but maybe it was a bad day.
-
I don't know how "conversation" works?
-
There was a failure of back & forth addressing your interlocutors points as they were stated & progressing the conversation on that occasion
-
But I admit I've only heard you discuss once & talking past each other happens to every1 from time to time so might not mean anything
