Saying that atheists should have a vested interest in freedom of speech does not in any way indicate that I think we all have shared values.

Of course not. Universal suffrage is in an atheist's best interest too. But that doesn't mean anything either.

I don't know how this relates. Atheists aren't particularly vulnerable here.

Its simply true that justifying violence or prosecution for expressing ideas that a majority dislikes can justify doing that to atheists.

If you don't support free speech for people you hate, you don't support free speech at all.

Well, they don't. They're quite open about not supporting it. They just don't seem to think this cld be used to justify silencing them.

Of course they don't. Religious thinking trains you to block out all that. Your god is better. You know better.
