Saying that atheists should have a vested interest in freedom of speech does not in any way indicate that I think we all have shared values.

i think the criticism of religion gets old pretty quickly. the critics dont offer much beyond that and have no long lasting institutions

They might have. It's just not related to one disbelief in one thing. I'm a liberal & a humanist & criticise religion on those grounds.

We must still be able to argue that it matters what is true & that evidence & reason are the best way to find out & that human rights matter
