I was a horrendously moody & unreasonable teenager. If Lucy going to be the same, I'd rather she directed it at me than her easy-going dad.
I think he's the safer target tho. At Year 3 parents evening, shown Lucy doing adjectives. Included 'Daddy is smiley' & 'Mummy is shouty.'

My mother & I yelled at each other for about 6 years whilst my dad implored us to be nice to each other & then hid in his study.
-
But Lucy is much more like her dad in temperament - easy-going & patient & ever-willing to see the best in everyone. That's positive, right?
-
But she also likes a good argument & won't let anything go if she thinks she's right. No idea where that comes from.
-
I've become convinced that much more of temperament is genetic than I previously thought & it's so interesting to see how traits combine.
-
I'm sorry Lucy has my OCD but she also has her dad's emotional strength & stability & is taking no shit from it.
-
It's a shame she has his dyslexia but she has my intellectual curiosity so she's not gonna let that hold her back either.
-
I know everyone thinks their child is exceptional in character & intellect but I'm actually right about this.

-
I can do this 'mother of a teenager' thing & all of you who have or have had teenage daughters trying to make me apocalyptic about it?

-
Going to see Wonder Woman later. I started to fill Lucy in on the politicisation of it but was eye rolled into silence. We'll just enjoy it
-
She voted Liberal Democrat in her school mock election & was furious when I checked she knew she didn't have to agree with us politically.
-
The school was heavily anti-conservative &Labour won by a landslide which is complete opposite of what actually happened in our constituency
