They're wrong in thinking others don't realise this & don't think about this way more rationally than them.

How do you know religious belief is irrational? It may be very logical decision based on that person's information and experience.

If you have a religious experience or a moment when you feel "touched by god," doesn't that count as a reason? Who can say that is invalid?

Also worth mentioning that there's pretty good reason to believe that there are rational explanations for religious experiences.

These days many want to talk about religion as a social construct or cultural thing. Not a whole lot about the role of experience.

We can certainly talk about experiences. I felt the presence of God & that he showed me things before they happened. Very moving.
