It shouldn't make sense to say that liberals want to impose their values on everyone else. If it does, liberals are liberaling wrong.

Someone always gets to impose their will on other people, usually via the law. Homosexuality was illegal. Others gained power & legalised it

Yes but this removed an imposition. No-one is forced to have gay sex by removing the ban on it.

That's true. But it does present people who want nothing to do with homosexuality with a problem, as they are obliged not to discriminate.

Another example is transgender bathrooms: Women have found themselves at odds with the law by not wanting to share a restroom with a penis.

I'm not sure this is a hill to die on. That question's open. Usually we don't see penises so its more abt whether person looks male or not.
