It shouldn't make sense to say that liberals want to impose their values on everyone else. If it does, liberals are liberaling wrong.

I remember a conversation we had once. We can push our liberal values in some way. It's a bit of a paradox. Think speech, abortion etc.
-
Pushing anyone to say or not say anything, to have or not have abortions is not liberal. No-one is pushed by other ppl having same choice.
-
True. But we base laws on them. Example: man is conservative, woman liberal. Woman wishes not to keep baby. Man does. Law agrees with her
-
But because the embryo is in her not coz she's liberal. The same would apply if she were conservative & wanted to keep baby but man didn't.
-
Your mind is a crystal lake on a windless day. Clear.
-
Ha! I wish it were!
-
Well, it comes out that way. Don't fight it! We don't care what goes on backstage.

It does prove liberalism is a self-eating monster. Liberalism is already retreating & replaced by conservative humanism or religions.
-
No, I don't think so. Liberalism in the sense of freedom & equal opportunities is the only thing that really works for everyone.
-
But it is also liberal and opportunistic towards the same people who wish to destroy it. From a memetic perspective, it is doomed to die.
-
So either liberals take a defensive stand (intolerance against intolerant, as Popper puts it) or they perish.
-
Yes, liberalism involves preventing illiberalism.
