It shouldn't make sense to say that liberals want to impose their values on everyone else. If it does, liberals are liberaling wrong.

Usually when someone accuses me of wanting to push liberal views on them, they mean I want to stop them imposing conservative ones on others

Coz my liberal perspective leads me to defend the rights of conservatives to express & live according to very conservative views.

If I were to genuinely try to impose my views on others, conservativism & religion & large sections of social justice activism wld be banned

That would be illiberal. Ppl calling themselves liberal but not applying this principle to their own values seem very confused to me.

I remember a conversation we had once. We can push our liberal values in some way. It's a bit of a paradox. Think speech, abortion etc.

Pushing anyone to say or not say anything, to have or not have abortions is not liberal. No-one is pushed by other ppl having same choice.

True. But we base laws on them. Example: man is conservative, woman liberal. Woman wishes not to keep baby. Man does. Law agrees with her

But because the embryo is in her not coz she's liberal. The same would apply if she were conservative & wanted to keep baby but man didn't.

There will always be dominant values. A liberal society will defend the rights of minority ones to be expressed & lived by.

As long as you have the right to ignore them and express & live by you're own values, we're still living in a liberal society.

Those can't be ignored. That impacts your life. If 'liberals' prevent you from expressing & living by your own values, they are illiberal

I don't think of liberals/conservatives as being truly liberal/conservative in pure sense of the words - they're more labels for Left/Right

To me, being liberal entails the assertion that others possess the same rights as oneself. Some might call this imposing values, but Is it?
