Some ppl claim morality derives from evolution. That being the case, how do you rationalise the difference between e.g. ISIS and the USA?
But is culture based on knowledge? Christians felt they knew God existed & unrepentant souls damned. Tiv knew something else.

Well, many of the religious differences between cultures are due to fashion and memes and stuff, not genuine knowledge about the world.

Yes, and I'm not sure genuine knowledge ever forms the basis of more than a part of culture. So much more that's important to humans.

It doesn't, but reason/knowledge/science is a very important part in that it's the only part which allows us to make progress.

Yes but I'm not sure we build much culture around it but now I sense we're using the word a bit differently.

I'm not sure we're using 'culture' in the same sense, and it is a bit of a floppy word. (You're probably using it in the correct sense)
