You haven't fully converted me to liberalism yet. In the meantime: https://www.minds.com/blog/view/699215685196193795 …

Sorry, I don't understand. Liberalism is against freedom & individuality?

Opposite. Liberalism is based on freedom of the individual. I just dont think current argument to that end is as good as it could be.

I don't think there needs to be an argument for freedom & individuality so much as a very strong one for denying or restricting them.

I agree the onus ought to be on those who advocate restriction. But I also think its good to be able to present an argument why.

Won't 'It makes me happy without harming anyone else' do? Only thing all my freedoms & individual choices have in common.

People who take against you will question what you mean by "me", "happy" and "harm". As they did J.S Mill. Pays to have some answers ready.

Harm, yes. That needs clarifying. I don't need arguments for being a person or justifications of what I mean by happiness.

We are all free & all individuals. This is unchallenged in nearly every area. I need arguments only for those areas that are challenged.

I have arguments for those. But generally it comes down to 'unless you can demonstrate that I'm harming others in some way, leave me alone.'
