Yes, he has bald spots with huge tumours growing in them but he's wagging & 'smiling' at you. Spare him a pat. Tell him he's a good boy.

Just had the vet shave them all so we can keep them clean. It's not pretty.

I know this is an evolved instinct. It helped reduce the spread of contagious diseases. I'm just really hurt for him. (He doesn't care.)

He feels much better for having fresh air on them rather than matted fur. He's all smiley & bouncy. I'm being silly. I know. But still...

And the vet didn't charge us which was kind and one man made a fuss of him in sympathy. OK. Maybe some humans are OK. Some. A few. 1 or 2.

Hope for a quick recovery - in my experience dogs are stoic in discomfort and amazingly cheerful through pain.
