Was asked to keep a mood diary. Log what I'm doing & what mood I am in whilst doing it all bloody day. Complete waste of time.

I've tried this. It's impossible to catch it all because minds are so fast. But tracking highlights, and simple awareness has been useful.

True. You might not need to be detailed. It does show a pattern of how often your focus shifts to other things than the current activity.

The only time they completely align is when I am writing or talking about things I am interested in.

Yes. I often have this same problem. I can forget to drink & eat when I read or talk about topics that fascinatie me.
