If you think only women can get pregnant, all advice on pregnancy will be sexist. If u include trans men, the advice is unchanged, so no.

Ultimately, what matters is whether the advice is good or not.

Pregnant women can drink in moderation, but why risk it. So much can go wrong why add that to the mix. That's at least my wife's opinion.
-
I don't think there's any evidence things can go wrong on 1-2 units once or twice a week, is there?
-
I agree with you, but can't we really go without alcohol for 9 months?
-
We can go without a lot of things. The point here is whether the evidence indicates a need to.
-
But in Norway alcohol is evil. At least from what I can see from government sponsored ads. So a pregnant women drinking is a big no-no!
-
Suggests its cultural norms rather than evidence. I was advised a small glass of red wine a couple of times a week helps to keep iron up
-
Exactly!

I think ultimately it's about protecting the babies from mothers that can't control themselves. I'm not sure it's a bad idea, to be honest.

-you're pregnant, you shouldn't drink -omg do you pretend to know what's best for me, you sexist! -no, I KNOW what's best for you
-
The evidence is what matters, isn't it? Advice was 1-2 units once to twice a week when I was pregnant & that seems to stand.
-
That's possible. I just thought you shouldn't drink while pregnant. Anyway, sexism has nothing to do with it

They can't drink before conception, because that makes it rape. So it stands to reason they want to kick back a bit after.
