Do we want surgeons with a history of losing the plot & stabbing people?https://twitter.com/guardian/status/864528879599448064 …

Still responsible, indeed. As for being a surgeon, only diff is that she has a propensity to drink/drug and then be violent, ->
-
Not necessarily. I speak as someone who made very stupid choices re drink & drugs along with a load of other ppl doing the same thing. 1/2
-
Most of whom are now responsible doctors, teachers, police officers etc. Stupid coz can't know what effects they'll have on you.
-
I agree with Helen her. This is a slippery slope. Patterns are more telling than incidents.
-
One of the times someone said to me 'try this' & I said 'OK' I cld have had a reaction I'd later regret hugely & learn from immediately
-
Not suggesting this happened or that I wouldn't have deserved to go to prison if I'd hurt someone but not an inherent danger to society

She might have been hallucinating ed. But in most jobs even if she did the time this shouldn't prevent her from a future job.
-
She seems like someone who could do with some extra time to sort her head out before having responsibility for other people's lives.
-
True. But that's what the time/community service/treatment would be for.
-
I'm agreeing with you. Holding up her career is not something that should be avoided
