why? modesty (in men & women) *is* a virtue. you can acknowledge that without insisting it be imposed by society

What kind of modesty? Humility? The opposite of arrogance? If so, I agree. The idea that it's somehow related to how much body you show? No.

We do have cultural norms & they are unavoidable. However, there is no justification for arguing for modesty as a virtue in this sense.

personally, I'd say some aspects (knees, ankles, hair) are purely cultural, & others (genitalia) are more objective
