On second thought, I have to agree. This reminded me of "The Shawshank Redemption" film where we are made to sympathise with murderers.

The easiest way to show a man is a villain is to have him mistreat a woman and the opposite for a hero.

Yep. Think of the Spike character in Buffy. He was murdering lots of ppl. Still intended to like him. Trying to rape Buffy? Crossed a line.

That was the tipping point at which he had to go and suffer horribly to get his soul back & that's always the thing he feels most shame for.

I've seen a few buffy episodes but must have dropped off before this Spike person appeared. I had to google him.

Spike was great! So deliciously evil but a fool for love.

Oh yes! Angel was very handsome but I preferred bad boy Spike. Ha.

Be like Spike in looks and personality and how sweet he was with Drusilla but not be like him murder-wise. Hope that helps.

Yes, that's more like it. Be the rough diamond bad boy who turns soft as butter with the woman he loves committedly. Irresistible.
