I think I disappoint some people by finding culture & emotions & ideology & perceptions & discourses important & interesting.

I think it's mostly a reaction to the "only culture matters" crowd. Which always puzzled me since culture is a byproduct of our biology

...and is selected as well. Culture and emotions matters as much as testosterone and the opposable thumb for human history.

If the need for fairness was not such a basic human emotion, democracy wouldn't work and we would be fine with tyranny.
