I don't identify as a feminist but at the same time I don't use "feminist" as a pejorative.

I'm just a female expat stationed in Middle East trying to survive as the only female engineer in my team. Occasionally I rant against men.
-
Oh, I do too. I also make sexist jokes about them.
-
But I get it. You'd rather focus on the reality in ur life than abstract principles of gender equality & theories abt it's cultural impact?
-
Rather focus on how to increase the number of women in engineering, by being involved in training and mentoring. Twitter doesn't change life
-
Twitter doesn't change life, no. Its just a good place to share ideas, essays, books etc which change attitudes which change life.
-
In real life I;m focused on tackling two problems affecting UK women. Unprosecuted honour crime & FGM & disempowerment in universities.
-
Do you think aiming training & mentoring at women will make more of them want to enter engineering? Currently dominate healthcare &education
-
And we find that where women have most freedom of choice & opportunity, they're less likely to choose STEM. Does your experience differ?
