Yes, they do but how does this relate to group loyalty? Big government/welfare etc is an expansive thing which seeks to protect everyone

Big government does not protect all. Big government favours some groups (farmers, pensioners) at expense of others (middle aged workers)

Yes it does but the idea is to protect the most vulnerable, not to protect your own group.

Yes. There are clear cases of most vulnerable but welfare state is far more extensive.

Well, I can't be bothered to argue about this. My point was that group loyalty is by no means a lefty thing & more associated w conservatism
