Yes. Racism is often understood as a malicious attitude.
eg I saw in US, Asian students complained of assumptions that they had superior maths skills. Better not to assume but racist?

That's the common dictionary definition. Also sexism. But is assuming a man likes sports sexist? So neutral, I think not.
