that it is better to manage tribalism constructively rather than try to eliminate it. A bit like religion, in a sense.

We do need to reduce its influence to a manageable level. Tribes create (and are created by) conflict.

Yes. I think that this is inevitable. You can claim to be anti-tribalism. But some part of you is tribalist. Simply because you're human.

Yeah, tribalism is deeply intuitive, along with a ton of other flaws people have to struggle against to be objectively reasonable.
