Life up until about the 1950s was sh*t for about 95% of the population. There were a very privileged few who had a life of high quality.

Yes! His wife had to do what he said & everything she earnt was his. She couldn't own anything. Like being a child.

She didn't need to own anything , she was busy being pregnant for 15 years. Imagine having to put up with a pregnant wife for all that time

Backbreaking work in the day. Ultra hormonal wife in the night! It's ok though, he had his male privilege!

Being a nun was a good life. Not getting pregnant. Enough food.

That's true. I wonder what the average life span was for a nun (or a monk). Surely longer?
