Is the aim of universities to educate students on how to belong to certain communities? I don't think it is. Blatant collectivism.
-
And the argument that whilst bigoted ideas don't hurt much on campus, they do in the wider world so ban them on campus is nuts.
-
Also, they have access to all ideas online? Surely, they intend their students to be significant players in the world of ideas & politics?
-
Imagine training soldiers in this way? There's enough violence in the real world & online. Don't need to be bringing it in here.
-
Being able to fight ideas rather than dissolve in a puddle or start shrieking & setting fire to things would be an advantage.

How does society recognise a bad idea? We seem not to mind the worst idea of all:

Society recognises bad ideas by allowing bad ideas 2b freely aired in society. This is how bad ideas whither & freedom of speech is upheld.
