I suppose if you have a cleaner & a car & no dogs, you could miss doing 10,000
Most ppl have to rush about in the morning tho especially ppl with kids. 2000 steps. Locking up the house & going to bed =500.

you must have a big house or short stride lol I have never gotten over 5k steps in one day since I started wearing the fitbit last fall
-
Really? No. Just 5-10 mins minutes pottering house shutting windows, turning things off, brushing teeth etc.
-
yeah it's probably 50 steps for me to do all that, at most (and technically 2 flights of stairs but it never seems to count our stairs)
-
Maybe yours is faulty? Mine gives me 100 steps from study to kitchen & back again to make tea.
-
it seems accurate except for the stairs thing, my office is in a finished basement, bedroom on a 2nd floor so I go up/down more than it says
-
would truly love to find out it's faulty lol I thought I would easily get over 5k on days I workout, but not usually
-
Very odd. I got 11000 y'day from 1 dogwalk, popping in on a friend 10 minutes away & doing about 2 hours housework.
-
I wonder how I would test it? I did buy a refurbished one so maybe it's off gonna google if there's a way to calibrate it somehow

500? How big is your house?
Do you have a fitbit/pedometer? You might be surprised how little most people walk -
Not huge! Fitbit, yes. That's the ten minutes of pottering abt shutting windows, turning things off, brushing teeth etc.
-
I do 10k a day, but have to make a conscious effort, i.e. going for a walk on every break at work, walking to a further tram stop etc.
-
Hmm. Maybe it helps that I'm scatty & inefficient in doing stuff round the house & keep forgetting why I came upstairs etc!
