Well, my opinion is, as always, accept people as they are & when it's your partner or other loved one, encourage them to feel able to do thathttps://twitter.com/patking70/status/855455343790309376 …

But I do get annoyed by 'Men need to emote more' claims right next to 'Women are unable to assert themselves. Men must help them' claims.
-
Within the same line of thought working on the same rules. 'Men have agency but women don't' from ppl who claim gender diffs not to exist.
-
And the options aren't 'Everything is culturally constructed' or 'cultural pressures don't exist or aren't at all influential.'
-
Whilst many gender differences are innate, cultural norms & expectations built around them vary greatly & have great impact on how we think.
-
This is why I think its important to support the people who don't fit gender norms w/out pressuring those who do to try to change.
-
Particularly when those norms are very likely to be innate as women being more emotionally expressive on average probably is.
