Got a lovely assignment from the BHA. I'll gladly take on any projects but do particularly love being asked to write persuasively!

Minimal research is expected for this but I don't do minimal research. I read absolutely everything even tangentially relevant.

Some people are very orderly & efficient when they write. They have a root & then branch out according to a plan & it all progresses neatly.

I am not orderly. I end up with a huge mass of information much more like a jungle that then needs to be pruned into order.

Every so often a supervisor points out that this is not efficient & I point out that it works & I love it so to please go away.

Sometimes they don't go away but persist in trying to make me orderly. Then I'm forced to send them this: http://helenpluckrose.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/why-lecturers-in-history-and-literature.html …

The BHA does not try to organise me but just lets me get on with it & is appreciative of the results so I like them a lot.

The British Humanist Association. I do research, writing & editing jobs for them.
