Some people are very orderly & efficient when they write. They have a root & then branch out according to a plan & it all progresses neatly.
-
I am not orderly. I end up with a huge mass of information much more like a jungle that then needs to be pruned into order.
-
Every so often a supervisor points out that this is not efficient & I point out that it works & I love it so to please go away.
-
Sometimes they don't go away but persist in trying to make me orderly. Then I'm forced to send them this: http://helenpluckrose.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/why-lecturers-in-history-and-literature.html …

The BHA does not try to organise me but just lets me get on with it & is appreciative of the results so I like them a lot.

Looking forward to it. Have been writing a response to your piece in Conatus but it's not very focused!
-
Did you disagree with that piece, then?
-
How much I'm not sure! I'll email you my thoughts when I've finished so that I don't embarrass myself. Twittering is too frustrating though.

I call it Chaos theory. I've noticed it enables flow states. Then start writing and then prune, prune and prune.
