Agree with the point in the abstract, but what "special treatment"?
-
Islam mustn't be satirised but Christianity OK. Homophobia & sexism are terrible generally but OK within Islam. That general attitude.
-
Thanks. BTW, I'm a Muslim, my view: Christianity shouldn't be satirized. Any religion can be debated but with respect & class.
-
I disagree & think satire can be a tool to pop excessive respect for silly ideas which have too much cultural power. 1/2
-
I think its important we continue to be able to do this but this should not be accompanied by contempt for religious people. 2/2

Downtrodden people to be pitied? That's how they view anyone who isn't part of their particular intelligentsia (except evil right wingers

who despit being just as priviledged as them just refuse to see things their way.. so they must be evil)

You seem to be travelling along the same path as
@TRobinsonNewEra has walked. But just taking those first baby steps -
No religion should be granted special privileges, be it Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jedi Knights, Wicca or Pastafarianism.
-
But there are anti-semetic laws are there not? Pretty sure that holocaust denial is one, though that seems to be a law against ignorance
-
That's in Germany. Denying the Holocaust isn't a crime in the UK. I could point out also that other groups, such as Roma, were targeted.
